Antique Italian Circa 1910 Venetian Etched Glass Heart Shaped Wall Mirror

A beautiful antique Italian Venetian wall mirror, circa 1910 , with an elegant heart-shaped form and richly decorative etched glass detailing. The mirror has a romantic early 20th century Venetian character, with shaped mirrored panels, floral engraving, and delicate applied glass ornamentation throughout.

The central mirror plate is framed by shaped border panels, each decorated with etched floral motifs, scrolls, leaves, and dotted detailing. The upper crest has a wonderful open heart-like design, giving the piece a graceful and highly decorative silhouette. The mirror is further embellished with small raised glass flower heads and cut glass details, catching the light beautifully and adding to its refined Venetian charm.

The mirror retains its original glass , which displays beautiful age-related foxing, spotting, and silvering loss. These natural signs of age help confirm the mirror's period character and give it the soft, timeworn look so desirable in genuine antique Venetian glass.

There are further signs of age and use, including wear to the mirrored panels, small marks, and patina throughout, all consistent with its antique nature. Rather than detracting from the piece, these details add depth, authenticity, and faded glamour.

The reverse shows traditional construction with a wooden back and hanging chain, consistent with its age and use. This mirror would make a striking decorative feature in a bedroom, dressing room, hallway, bathroom, powder room, or romantic antique-inspired interior.

A charming antique Italian Venetian etched glass wall mirror, circa 1910, with original foxed glass, heart-shaped crest, floral decoration, and wonderful old-world elegance.

Caring for your items

Vintage period and original items, such as leather seating, will always have a natural patina in the form of cracking, creasing and wear.

We recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost and to keep out of sunlight.

For Hand-Dyed leather items, we don't recommend placing them in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as they will dry out and fade.

For wood, we recommend regular, thorough cleaning and waxing also.

Care

To maintain the beauty and integrity of your purchase, we recommend treating it with care. Simple maintenance practices, such as gentle washing and proper storage, can effectively preserve the longevity of your favorites. We encourage you to refer to the care instructions included with each item, designed to help you keep your purchase in top condition.

Design

Our dedication to excellence extends beyond materials; it encompasses the artistry and craftsmanship illustrated in every piece we create.
