Antique 1860 Dutch Marquetry Window Piano Stool with Hand Dyed Chesterfield Seat
A beautiful antique circa 1860 Dutch marquetry window or piano stool , richly decorative and full of 19th century European character. The stool features elegant Dutch marquetry inlay, with finely detailed floral and foliate decoration adding warmth, charm, and craftsmanship to the frame.
The piece has a graceful occasional form, traditionally suited as a piano stool, window seat, hallway stool, bedroom stool, or decorative country house accent. Its compact proportions make it easy to place, while the detailed marquetry gives it a highly decorative presence.
The seat has been beautifully restored and finished with a hand dyed Chesterfield-style leather seat , giving the piece a rich, aged appearance with wonderful depth and character. The hand dyed leather adds a luxurious contrast to the marquetry frame, creating a smart balance between Dutch antique elegance and classic English upholstery style.
There are expected signs of age and use, including gentle wear, patina, small marks, and minor imperfections consistent with its age. These details add to the authenticity and charm of the piece.
A fine antique Dutch marquetry stool, circa 1860, with a hand dyed Chesterfield leather seat, decorative, practical, and full of old-world character.

Caring for your items
Vintage period and original items, such as leather seating, will always have a natural patina in the form of cracking, creasing and wear.
We recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost and to keep out of sunlight.
For Hand-Dyed leather items, we don't recommend placing them in direct sunlight for prolonged periods, as they will dry out and fade.
For wood, we recommend regular, thorough cleaning and waxing also.
Care
To maintain the beauty and integrity of your purchase, we recommend treating it with care. We encourage you to refer to the care instructions included with each item, designed to help you keep your purchase in top condition.
